LEXUS HOVERBOARD — This Is Not An April Fool’s Joke!
Well, it was only a matter of time. The Lexus International design team is putting the finishing touches on the world’s first commercially available hoverboard. This is not a joke, and in a way it makes total sense: skateboard culture has borrowed liberally from the innovations of automotive culture for decades (axles, bearings, illegal street racing), and now the time has come for car manufacturers to solve the classic hoverboard dilemma presented in Back To The Future.
In the words of Lexus Chief Engineer Haruhiko Tanahashi, “There is no such thing as impossible. It’s just a matter of figuring it out.” Words to live by, but not literally.
