TONY ALVA — Happy (Belated) 60th

While we were collectively soaking up the last days of summer this past weekend, Tony Alva quietly turned 60. Alva is the forefather of modern professional skateboarding and been shredding since 1969. During his nearly 50-year tenure, his accomplishments include helping launch the Vans skate program and being one of the first skateboarders to achieve crossover fame.

Jeff Grosso and Vans sent Alva a proper birthday card in the form of the latest Loveletters To Skateboarding. Happy (belated) birthday, Tony!
