DEAR MR. AND MRS. MIDLER BY JIM THIEBAUD
Thank you very much for letting Alex go on his first trip as a Known Associate with the REAL Team. It was a very good trip.
With riders getting on REAL it has always been not just about how good the rider is, but how well they fit in the van while on the road with the crew. Fortunately for Alex, since he is so small, he fits just about anywhere the guys could stuff him so it made it real easy to bring him along. When traveling, all we ask is that everyone on the team 'just tries' when they skate new spots. The rest of the team knows the drill. They'd often try to make Alex stop skating so they could go on to the next spot. It was very difficult to stop him from skating... especially after all the candy and soda he ate. Alex killed every spot. It was very cool to see... even the security guards would let him slide as they were impressed.
I think this trip was good for Alex. He got to meet and ride with the crew and learned a lot from them. He even learned how to sucker Justin, Davis and Ernie into betting big against a little kid in dice and then taking them for about a hundred bucks. You would have been very proud.
Thank you again for letting him get on the road with REAL. He is a great REAL Known Associate. We look forward to him getting taller than Ernie (which should be in about a week and a half) and going on more trips in the future.
