Chaz Ortiz is a skateboarding prodigy. He’s only seventeen years old and is already pro, has a list of heavy-duty sponsors, and is competing in the biggest competitions on the planet. Given the lifestyle that Chaz leads, it’s easy to forget that he’s still a teenager. Chaz travels the world on his skateboard, it’s a little hard to imagine this guy going through a normal day of school. For the Go All Day video, the Berrics and Gatorade decided to create a visual of what that might be like.

Chaz gets dropped off at 8:00 AM and makes his way through the rest of the students preparing to go to class and start their day. The long take style camera work seamlessly moves through all of the actions and interactions taking place on campus. There are countless stories within the story. The television being moved through the school, the flirting looks shared between Chaz and a female student on the stairwell, the kid feverishly kicking at the ground before closing the classroom door, and the security guard looking for someone in each room subtly add layers to the narrative. You get the sense that there is more going on here than what initially meets the eye, which is the case at most schools everywhere.

The video climaxes with Chaz sneaking out of class before the end of the period. He needs to escape the confines of the classroom after being cooped up all day and do what he loves. Chaz grabs his board from his locker and cruises down the empty hallway effortlessly doing tricks and narrowly avoiding getting caught by a teacher and security. He then heads out of the school and drops a feeble grind on a massive handrail in what could be described as the ultimate First Try Friday before hopping in his mom’s car right at 3:00 PM to head home - just another day indeed.
