POPULIST 2016 — Dennis Busenitz

Dennis Busenitz was inescapable this year. Everywhere you turned, there he was: adidas, Spitfire, Volcom, REAL… Dennis skates fast, and it’s partly so he can keep up with his video projects. Having the final part in “Away Days,” a full-length with a cast of dozens, is a huge achievement. And releasing on a milestone anniversary (ten years with adidas Skateboarding) ensured that there was plenty more Busenitz to go around in the form of the documentary “Up To Speed.” Capping 2016 with Spitfire’s “Live Wire”—a love letter to San Francisco—one thing was clear: Dennis couldn’t slow down if he wanted to.
