Kanine Records is more down for skating than any other record label out there. Every band that signs to the Williamsburg, Brooklyn-based indie label is contractually obligated to license their music to skate videos, free of charge. Yup, there’s literally a clause in their contracts specifically stating that they have to be fine with giving their tunes out for skate videos. Lio Kanine, co-founder of Kanine and life-long skater, has dedicated the past 10 years of his life to finding new bands; Kanine’s roster includes releases by Grizzly Bear, Chairlift, Surfer Blood, The Blow, and plenty more. Next time you need a song for an edit, use a song from Kanine’s catalog and know that you won’t be receiving any cease and desists.
