VANS X LOCKWOOD COLLAB PAYS HOMAGE TO A CLASSIC SCHOOLYARD SPOT

Vans is constantly engineering interesting collabs. It seems like every week there’s a cool, new partnership with an unexpected brand or skater. The Vans x Lockwood Off The Wall collab is no exception: for the first time ever, the company has teamed up with a Belgian brand to release 2 shoe designs (a Skate Pro SK8-Mid and a Skate Pro Authentic).

Lockwood, a skateshop in Antwerp, was started in 1996 by Sven Aerts, taking its name as a tribute to the revolutionary clips filmed at the LA spot in the ’90s. 22 years later, it must feel like an amazing honor for Aerts to be able to bring it all full circle; the video for the shoes’ release (“Lockwood Goes Lockwood”) is a loveletter of sorts to the classic spot, with commentary by AVE, no less.
