"WE ARE FROM AUSTRALIA, CHEERS!"

We get quite a variety of Watch This submissions every week. They range from seven seconds (that’s too short, guys) to nearly one hour long (that’s a teeny bit too long). The sweet spot is anywhere from one minute to fifteen minutes. We received a too short submission recently that was a little cryptic, but the skating spoke volumes. It just said: “Skateboarders. Darcy Corbett. John Jeffery. We Are From Australia, Cheers!” [thumbs up emoji] What we saw was intriguing: a strange blend of teamwork and “ghostriding the whip.” Watch this… we just wish it was a little longer.

SEXY QUALITY: "MINNEAPOLIS MONTAGE"

Minneapolis is the home of Mystery Science Theater 3000 and Prince. And a crew who call themselves “Sexy Quality.” How appropriate is that? The name could work as either a MST3K movie experiment or a Prince song.  Brian Omen sent over this montage with a note saying, “Nothing too stressful, just fun times.” Now that’s what I call a Watch This!

LUCAS DINIZ COFRE "5 TRICKS"

Every once in a while, we’ll get a submission with a title that tells you exactly what it is. In the case of this video featuring Lucas Diniz Cofre, you are about to watch five tricks. You have time for five tricks, don’t you? Believe me when I tell you: if the fifth trick is something called a “360 Flip Tailgrab Finger Shuvit” you will make the time! Who even thinks of doing something like that? (And it’s filmed and edited quite proper, courtesy of Ivan Freitas.)

PATRICC WOLF "GET ON THE WAY"

22-year-old Patricc Wolf is an Austrian kindergarten teacher. For the past two years he’s been on a sort of European filming mission (Berlin, Vienna, Innsbruck, Barcelona, Zurich, western Austria), and “Get On The Way” is the result of all this international exploration. The video is tight, with some cool postproduction effects, and the skating is on point (my kindergarten teacher could barely swing a protractor). Patricc is sicc! Video by Luzian Burgstaller.

"THE GROUP CHAT VIDEO" FROM LONG ISLAND

“The Group Chat Video” is from Long Island, made by Robert Smith. James Sayres, Mike Marconi, Kyle Remondino, Mike Sordillo, Dan Conlin, and Max Rowlette are all part of the group, and after seeing this video we’re curious about the text chain that spawned it. The video warrants at least a dozen “praise hands” emojis. And in the case of James Sayres and his shiftiest kickflip that was ever shiftied, at least one of those emojis that has the eyes bugging out.
