Activision Announces Virtual ‘Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater’ Concert

Video game publisher Activision announced a special musical event to promote the release of their remastered versions of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2. The updated games, which will release on September 4, 2020, will premiere with Nyjah Huston, Leo Baker, Leticia Bufoni, Aori Nishimura, Lizzie Armanto, Shane O’Neill, Riley Hawk, and Tyshawn Jones, joining the roster of OG pros, but on July 28 at 3pm PT the publisher will also be holding a virtual concert featuring performances by Chaii, Merkules, Machine Gun Kelly, and Rough Francis. The publisher will also reveal more details on more new music for the games’ releases.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2 can be preordered now for PS4, PS4 Pro, Xbox One and One X, and on PC, through the Epic platform. Those that pre-order the game digitally will get access to the Warehouse Demo starting on August 14, 2020, ahead of the games’ official launch.

The OG THPS launched in 1999—the game was in the beta-testing stage when Tony Hawk landed his historic 900—and it sold 9 million units during its initial run. To date, Hawk has been behind 18 games on 13 different platforms (not including the forthcoming rerelease), selling approximately a kadjillion units worldwide to stoked gamers.

Last summer’s ‘Tony Hawk Week’ was another blockbuster, and Birdman wasn’t playing. Watch him at the top of his game, along with our exclusive THPS Alumni day at The Berrics, below:
