ADIDAS X HELAS COLLECTION — Modernized ’80s Court Style

adidas Skateboarding has collaborated once again with the eternally French skate outfit, Hélas, for a limited edition footwear and apparel collection. A nod to adidas’ rich court roots and classic ’80s tennis fashion, the adidas Skateboarding x Hélas capsule features a clean custom white Matchcourt, a windbreaker tracksuit, a polo shirt, a t-shirt, shorts, and two custom hats.

Launched in 2011, Hélas was founded by adidas Skateboarding Global Pro team rider Lucas Puig and friends, Clement Brunel and Stephen Khou (featured in pitch perfect supporting imagery, as if training for a tennis match—you’ll “love” these pictures).

Designed with sleek and subtle hints of green and orange on bright white, the latest adidas Skateboarding x Hélas capsule features a custom Matchcourt constructed in a full grain leather upper with the classic three-stripes in a white hue. For added durability, the shoe sports a rubber-capped toe and a classic vulcanized outsole lends itself for maximum board feel and grip. Rounding out the shoe design is the signature Hélas umbrella and adidas logo screenprinted on the tongue and again on its green insole.

The adjustable adidas x Hélas Four-Panel Hat features a strap-back closure and un-structured four-panel construction for a casual, snug fit. Designed with a classic six-panel construction, the adidas x Hélas Six-Panel Hat also includes an adjustable strap-back closure with a signature adidas x Hélas label accented on the front. Both hats were crafted with embroidered Hélas adidas logo on the left and woven adidas Skateboarding labels on the back. 

Combining elegant heritage with modern street style, the adidas x Hélas Polo Shirt is specially fabricated with cotton piqué material featuring the hallmark ribbed collar and button placket. Modernizing clean 80s court style with a nod to skate, embroidered versions of adidas x Hélas logos are represented along the shirt’s front with the classic three-stripes in tennis green. 

The matchingadidas x Hélas Wind Pants and Wind Shorts feature the same ultra-lightweight nylon material with elastic cuffs, an adjustable,drawstring waist and convenient front and back pockets for added storage.

The limited edition adidas Skateboarding x Hélas footwear and apparel collection, which also includes the adidas x Hélas Tee and adidas x Hélas Wind Shorts, will be available at specialty adidas retailers in the U.S. and the adidas Skateboarding website starting May 5.
