Adidas’ Tyshawn Jones Speaks Out On Racism In Latest Video
Adidas invited Tyshawn Jones to share his thoughts on the topic of racism and equality, and the result is ‘A Message From Tyshawn Jones,’ featuring some of his clips from recent edits filmed by Chris Mulhern and Zander Takatomo. Jones recognizes the power of skateboarding to provide an escape from the troubles we face in the world, but in this video he stresses that merely skating away from the problem isn’t enough—we need to be conscious as a community about bigotry. “We should have been equal,” the 21-year-old says in the video, “We should have been treated fairly from the beginning of time… If the world keeps applying the pressure then I believe that we’ll be heard.”
