Award-Winning ‘7 Hills’ Documentary To Premiere Tomorrow
Amman, Jordan, hosts nearly 800,000 refugees who have come from from Syria, Iraq, Yemen, Sudan, Somalia, and other nations torn apart by war; more than half of these refugees are children. In 2015, Amman’s first community skatepark, 7 Hills, was erected to serve these underrepresented kids. To mark the launch of their crowdfunding campaign to raise funds for 7 Hills’ free-of-charge skate program, the organization will be screening an award-winning documentary by filmmaker Jesse Locke about the philosophy behind 7 Hills Skatepark and its skate program as told by the people behind the scenes and through the stories of the youth who have made the park a home.
The doc will premiere at the 7 Hills site tomorrow at 7:00pm Amman time and will be live for only 24 hours. Watch the stream here!
All donations to 7 Hills will enable access to skateboarding for the local and refugee youth of downtown Amman. The skate program will launch this year, paying special attention to the COVID-19 safety measures. Every dollar helps expand 7Hills’ program, reach more youth in downtown Amman, and support the implementation of extra health measures which will ensure the safety of the 7Hills community.
