This Is The Story Behind The Biggest Skatepark In America

By now, you’ve probably already heard about the massive Lauridsen Skatepark in Des Moines, Iowa, and you might have even been lucky enough to skate this bad boy (technically the biggest skatepark in the U.S.). But how did this Skatepark of America even get built? Tony Hawk‘s The Ride Channel goes deep into the history of this megapark in its latest video, featuring Lauridsen stakeholders (skateholders?) and pros, like Samarria Brevard and Sean Malto. This build probably wouldn’t have happened this smoothly if it wasn’t for a grant from Tony Hawk’s The Skatepark Project, so all hail Birdman!
