Canada’s First National Skateboarding Team Is Announced

The Olympics are (once again) right around the corner, and one country has just made their team official. Canada’s recent announcement of who will be representing the Great White North in Tokyo includes street, park, men, and women; these twelve Canadians will be the first to EVER skate for their country in this year’s Summer Games…

Annie Guglia (Montreal), Maddy Balt (Brooklin, Ont.), Sophie Grant (London, Ont.), Matt Berger aka “The Kamloops Kid” (Kamloops, B.C.), Ryan Decenzo aka “R-Deezy” (Vancouver, B.C.), Micky Papa (Vancouver), TJ Rogers (Whitby, Ont.), and Shay Sandiford (Courtenay, B.C.) will be competing in street, and Faye De Fazio Ebert (Toronto), Adam Hopkins (Thunder Bay, Ont.), James Clarke (Vancouver, B.C.), and Andy Anderson (White Rock, B.C.) will be skating the park competitions. Congrats! Now, pop open a bag of Cheezies, munch on a couple of Timbits and celebrate… (We haven’t been back in Canada since the pandemic started and we miss their goddamn snacks so much.)
