The full-length’s clever blend of tricky VX camerawork and unique artistic transitions set it apart from everything released that year. Read‘s been parlaying his idiosyncratic style to the world of music videos: Danny Brown’s latest single, ‘3 Tearz,’ featuring El-P and Killer Mike (aka Run The Jewels), takes all of Spirit Quest‘s spirit and transfers it to an underground rap cipher and the effect is mesmerizing. (Read handed VXes to real-life RTJ fans to capture a truly organic feel.) This in-your-face production gets up close and personal, and we love it!
