Deluxe Keeps The Charity Rolling With Gear Distribution Program

Last month, Deluxe Distribution, the San Francisco-based company that provides you with REAL, Krooked, Antihero, Grimple Stix, Spitfire, Venture, and Thunder, introduced a new community-building effort designed to keep everyone rolling. The ‘Keep It Rolling’ campaign provides donation boxes for local skate shops, which you then fill up with your old skate gear, then it all gets re-distributed to needy skaters, after-school skate programs, and even artists. (The skate shops are free to choose who they way want to give the gear to.)

The brand shared the program’s first success story this morning. SF’s Jamestown Community Center provides kids a safe place to skate and have fun and, as recipients of the ‘Keep It Rolling’ campaign, the nonprofit can focus on the important work they do—not the hassle of sourcing gear. Teacher Phil McCormick gives you the rundown of how Jamestown works in the above video.

So don’t throw it away (or focus it)! Bring it to your local shop and keep the sesh going! Learn more about the ‘Keep It Rolling’ campaign here.

The Berrics has worked closely with Deluxe since the very beginning of our humble greatest private skatepark in the world. Jim Thiebaud and the crew have consistently created initiatives designed to use skateboarding as a tool for positive change; this is what giving back is truly all about.
