ELEMENTAL AWARENESS — Desert Journey
Every year, the Elemental Awareness Foundation make their way out to the American Indian reservations, bearing the gift of skateboarding. This year they visited two different tribes in Arizona: The Pima in Gila River, and the Navajo in Window Rock. The crew gave out more than 100 skateboards, many boxes of tee shirts and clothes, and countless high fives.
American Indian reservations are some of the most impoverished areas of the nation, with high unemployment and even higher rates of drug and alcohol abuse.
