eS Presents New Accel Slim Colorway With New Footage From ‘The Donger’

éS Footwear has been paying homage to some of the greats who were part of the brand’s influential early days. There was the Sal 23 redux in 2015; Ronnie Creager’s reintroduction to the team last year; and then this week, OG grasshopper Kien ‘The Donger’ Lieu gets his own version of the Accel Slim—’The Skate Rat’. (According to the Chinese zodiac, 2020 is the year of the rat.) Donger’s family is from a small village in Canton, China, and when he was four years old they relocated to San Diego

The éS ACCEL Slim comes in red and gold—a significant colorway in Chinese culture, symbolizing prosperity and, in Donger’s case, mad pop—and has an emblem representative of Donger’s style. The artist behind the emblem is Canada’s Mark Kowalchuck.

Pick up a pair of the éS Accel Slim at your local skate shop or www.eSskateboarding.com.

A few years ago we interviewed Clay Griffin, the owner of the world’s largest collection of classic éS shoes, for an edition of Footnotes. It’s pretty damn interesting if you’re interested in éS’ impact on footwear. Watch it below!
