That’s what Masked Gorilla is all about, introducing you to your favorite rapper before he’s everyone’s favorite rapper.

Now imagine being able to catch this Jay Z guy at your local venue, with only a few hundred people in the crowd, watching him perform from a few feet away. That’s what the UNMASKED Concert Series is all about.

Originally getting his start with the SpaceGhostPurrp led crew Raider Klan, Denzel Curry officially broke out onto his own with the release of his mixtape ‘Nostalgia 64’ in 2013. Covering his rise on Masked Gorilla since the early Raider Klan days, we watched Curry’s surge in the underground in the following years after his breakout mixtape dropped. When an opportunity arose to have Denzel Curry play an UNMASKED show, we had to jump on it. Before he hit the stage, the Miami rapper spoke with us about what drew him into rapping, what it was like growing up in Miami, making a career out of his music and more.
