Los Angeles HUF Exhibit Commemorates Brand Founder Keith Hufnagel’s Legacy

Keith Hufnagel’s passing in September, at the age of 46, devastated the skate community but the brand he founded is determined to share his legacy. On Saturday, HUF opened ‘Huf Forever’ at HVW8 Gallery in Los Angeles featuring photos taken by Ari Marcopolous, Giovanni Reda, Tobin Yelland, and more; there is also an amazing selection of his pro models over the course of his career on display. Watch the tribute video by RB Umali, above. The exhibit will run until Sunday, November 8.

And to truly pay tribute to the influential pro, the brand has released a commemorative shirt with proceeds going to fund cancer research. For more information, visit the HUF site.

Born in 1974, Hufnagel quickly became a notable skater in the NYC scene and emerged in the ’90s as one of the era’s most powerful and stylish skaters, at a time when technical trends weren’t exactly synonymous with “style.” Hufnagel’s gift for aesthetics helped make him a streetwear pioneer, with his brand HUF (born from his San Francisco retail store) becoming a worldwide success.

Hufnagel died on September 24 after battling brain cancer.
