House of Vans—the cultural hub for Vans functioning as a music venue, art house, skatepark, and DIY workshop—recently took over Johannesburg for South Africa’s largest pop-up edition to date. House of Vans Johannesburg was a 4-day celebration, bringing together nearly 10,000 local youth to participate in open skate sessions, free workshops, photo exhibitions, barbershop cuts, flash tattooing, and live performances (from local acts such as Stilo Magolide, Riky Rick, and Morena Leraba, and international headliners Culture Abuse and Rich The Kid).

Numerous House of Vans pop-ups have come and gone over the years, and we were on the ground floor for the one in Austin in 2014 and Chicago in 2017 for the Crockett 2 wear test. Check out that edit, along with our 2015 5-part history of the 53-year-old brand, below:
