Enter Illegal Civ’s ‘Godspeed’ Contest Today
Illegal Civ takes you to church with the recent announcement that it’s holding a contest to celebrate the massive runaway success of its full-length video, Godspeed, and all you have to do is send a video to win! The brand posted the criteria this morning:
“You can make a funny video, it can be gnarly skating, we are going to choose [winners] based on creativity and perceived effort. DO YOU! Have fun with it! If you make music put your music under the video. Or film a skate trick at your local religious center, that 10 stair, or 3 stair. Post the video on Instagram and tag @illegalciv. We will pick three people to send mystery boxes!”
As far as the spiritual implications of skating a church: just ask for forgiveness later. And if you don’t win a mystery box, just remember that you’ll get your reward in heaven. Maybe.
Godspeed was one of the top skate videos of 2020, quickly going gold in its first weekend with over 500,000 views (it’s currently clocking over 1.7mm on YouTube alone). Chances are good that you’ve already seen Davonte Jolly’s full-length, featuring the whole IC team and some special guests (including Ishod Wair, Na-Kel Smith, Zion Wright, and more), but you’ll want to bookmark this anyway just so you can rewatch Alex Midler’s latest part. He went buckwild yet again, tripping us out on how he’s grown up since he first started working with us circa 2012-ish. But even trippier is how Mid90s star Sunny Suljic has matured. (BTW, Kevin White and Zach Saraceno are now new pros for the brand… hallelujah!)
