ILLEGAL CIVILIZATION — ‘Summer of ’17’ Episode 2
With all of the Nyjah hype last week, we missed the second episode of Mikey Alfred’s Summer of ’17. In contrast to Episode 1, this takes a darker look at adolescent life. Follow Aramis Hudson and Nico Hiraga through their day as they try to raise money for Aramis to pay rent at what is later revealed to be an abusive household. When watched together, the two episodes take the viewer through the spectrum of excitement for the unknown, and the mounting pressures of growing up that accompany everyone’s teen experience. Illegal Civ delivers once again in the cinematography, narrative, and acting departments with its latest effort. We’re looking forward to seeing what’s next.
