Jiro Platt Wins Damn Am NYC 2023
Skatepark of Tampa‘s amateur contest series headed to The Big Apple for the Damn Am NYC 2023! The best AMs around the globe gathered at LES skatepark this past weekend for a chance to qualify into the 2023 Tampa Am. As the finals came to a close, the hometown hero Jiro Platt stood at the top of the podium, earning him a spot in 2023 Tampa Am. What makes this victory extra sweet for Jiro is the fact hat he’s been skating Damn Am NYC every year since 2017 and this is his first ever Damn Am NYC win. Patience definitely pays off. Congrats Jiro!
While Jiro took 1st in the finals, it was Kiki Kakitani who shut it down in the Best Trick with a barrage of bangers on the double set, including a huge gap to backside 5050 on the hubba and ollie north back lip down the rail).
