LACEY BAKER DISCUSSES GENDER IDENTITY & INCLUSIVITY WITH ‘TEEN VOGUE’

Lacey Baker, voted as The Berrics 2017 Populist, was interviewed for a recent article at the Teen Vogue site. The focus was on nonbinary diversity in skateboarding—although the piece also covers a good deal of Baker’s history—and included some characteristically candid remarks from the pro:

“For me, I’m existing in this queer body, and not identifying with the gender I was assigned with at birth. I’m on a platform where I can speak out about that stuff, and I’m using my privilege to hopefully broaden the horizons for the LGBTQ+ community to come, especially in skateboarding.”
