Leticia Bufoni & Dashawn Jordan Reveal How Support Dogs Have Helped Them

Leticia Bufoni, our first female Battle Commander, went through some emotional turmoil during the pandemic: rehabbing a broken foot; being far away from her family; training super hard at her private skatepark for the Olympic games, all alone. Meanwhile, Dashawn Jordan had the same goal, but he didn’t make the cut for Tokyo. Needless to say, that kind of pressure can fuck with you… but thankfully there are dogs.
Allianz, the insurance company that’s covering the Olympics this year, is protecting its investment by providing a pack of support dogs to any Olympics-bound skaters in Los Angeles. Jordan and Bufoni have benefited tremendously from these good boys (and girls)— sometimes you just need a little encouragement from your dogs—and they tell you all about how having a support animal can help drag you out of the dumps in the above video. We hope you have an Olympic-sized box of Kleenex handy, because this shit will tug at your heartstrings like a bitch.
Bufoni has been working with The Berrics since the early days at our original Myers Street location, skating our Ladies Night events as a teen (back in 2009) and filming her first Bangin’ in 2011—and it’s been gratifying to see her blow up! Not to mention her epic 5-part PUSH documentary (link here for all episodes). And Jordan has busted his ass for The Berrics consistently since 2015, and in 2016 we released his Recruit with an ender that was later nominated for our #BerricsGnarliestTrick contest.
