WORDS: Stu Gomez

Louie Lopez is no longer a Flip pro, according to a post on the brand’s Instagram this morning. The 24-year-old joined the team at the age of 12, which means half of his life has been spent on a Flip board. Crazy.

There’s no word yet on where Lopez will move to, but because he is universally beloved by skaters—you’ll never hear a bad word said about him—he’s basically got his pick of the litter. Here’s Flip’s caption for the above post:

“Flip sponsored Louie Lopez at age twelve and today marks the end of his twelve year long ride with the team. Thanks for the good times Louie.”

For a little reminder of what this free agent is capable of, just rewatch his It Must Be Nice from November 2017, below:

UPDATE: Lopez posted his Flip farewell on his IG around 11:30 a.m. PST:

“MUCH LOVE Flip | 12 YEARS ‼️| thankful for all the memories and experiences. As of today I’ll no longer be riding for Flip just want to thank Ian Deacon & Jeremy Fox for all the memories and love throughout the years. Truly helped me be the man that I am today.”

Lopez is truly a class act.
