Louis Vuitton menswear artistic director Virgil Abloh has roots in skating—clips of him skating in high-end gear have been floating around for years—so it isn’t too surprising to see Palace’s Lucien Clarke and Baker’s Donta Hill modeling his designs today. (Or is it?)

Clarke and Hill are shown here in a preview of Abloh’s Fall/Winter Staples Edition gear, a 30-piece line of versatile, everyday fashion. According to brand, the collection “consecrates contemporary ideas of wardrobe essentials through pieces rooted in sportswear, normcore, and the casual dress code.”

The collection will be available next month, but there is no info on pricing yet. Judging by the list prices for the LV Men’s Summer line, with cargo pants retailing at $1,470, Clarke and Hill are doing pretty good for themselves. Skaters modeling contemporary designer fashion isn’t exactly unheard of; Gillette, Rieder, Hsu, Nordberg, the list goes on. The question is: Will high-end, luxury sponsors become the new dream?
