‘Manchild’s Corner’ Is Another Cinematic Crailtap Masterwork, Directed By Tyler Pacheco

Girl Skateboards’  Tyler Pacheco may never shake the nickname ‘Manchild,’ but he does have some grown-ass editing skills. In the latest episode of his ‘Manchild’s Corner’ he compiles some of the more chaotic Crailtap moments and scores it all to Amy Winehouse, who lived and died by chaos. Such a poignant choice: even the song’s title—’Rehab’—suggests that Pacheco is “rehabilitating” (if you will) the standard skateboarding compilation. Rather brilliant, wouldn’t you say? And his mise-en-scène is impeccable, with nary a stray frame hampering his precise editing technique. At (room) 2:37, he even injects a subtly sneaky reference to Kubrick’s The Shining (do you see it?)… all work and no play indeed. Jolly good show, old chap… and this fucker has some gnarly wallies, yo!

The Crailtap riders have been working with The Berrics since before a single clip was filmed in our teeny, tiny Myers St private warehouse. (Ty Evans put together an awesome ‘Skate Fairy’ episode devoted to the LA sanctuary in 2006.) Check out a random assortment of Crail projects from the past eleven years, below (thanks for the memories!):
