MARIAH DURAN JOINS MTN DEW’S SKATE TEAM
Today, MTN DEW announced that Mariah Duran has joined their skate team, which already includes Sean Malto, Theotis Beasley, Curren Caples, and Chris Colbourn.
Duran, an Albuquerque, New Mexico native and winner of the 2018 Dew Tour Long Beach Zumiez Destroyer Award for best trick, nabbed her first X Games gold medal last July and added a second gold medal to the list in Sydney, Australia, in October.
“Out of all the sports I’ve played in my life, skateboarding has always been my biggest passion,” Duran said when interviewed about the news. “Skateboarding has taught me so much about life—building confidence, learning through trial and error, and always focusing on progression. These are the things I value most about skateboarding. And being on the DEW team as their first female skater really means a lot because I have the opportunity to help grow women’s skating.”
And her name is literally “Dew ran.” Congrats!
