‘NIGHT OF THE LIVING SHRED’: BERRICS AWARD FOR FILM OF THE YEAR

When Boris Sapozhnikov submitted his latest film project, a “horror skate film,” we must admit that we were skeptical. The horror genre has been cannibalized (lol) by skateboarding culture for decades—graphics, apparel, sensibility, even nicknames—but what could skateboarding possibly add to horror? Well, Sapozhnikov’s zombie-filled Night Of The Living Shred plays on every skater’s worst fears with a truly horrifying story, and with an ending that George Romero would’ve loved. It takes brains to pull this off; fresh, delicious brains.

Night Of The Living Shred may be an ABD title, but it’s faithful to its 1968 reference point. So, in our eyes at least, Sapozhnikov can officially claim the horror-skate auteur throne. The film has officially been named “Berrics Film Of The Year” by the Berrics Guild of America. Watch at your own risk… WUAAAHAAAAHAAAA!!!
