Nike SB Pays Tribute to Keith Hufnagel
Nike SB follows Keith Hufnagel’s journey from New York to San Francisco in the brand’s latest video, featuring Cyrus Bennett, Nick Matthews (Huf once said of Matthews, “He’s our favorite Chi-town skater out right now”), Mason Silva, and special guests. Born in 1974, Hufnagel quickly became a notable skater in the NYC scene and emerged in the ’90s as one of the era’s most powerful and stylish skaters, at a time when technical trends weren’t exactly synonymous with “style.” Hufnagel’s gift for aesthetics helped make him a streetwear pioneer, with his brand HUF (born from his San Francisco retail store) becoming a worldwide success.
Hufnagel has influenced skateboarding immeasurably, and he was a friend to us here at The Berrics since the very beginning. Rest in peace, Keith—you will be missed. 1974-2020.
