Nyjah Huston Talks About His 2020 Output In X Games Podcast

Even with all of the big summer contests getting canceled, Nyjah Huston has had an amazingly progressive year—as per usual. Although he’s a street skater at heart, Huston has excelled in competitions from an early age; his accumulation of gold medals makes house his look like King Midas’s trophy room. X Games, the biggest skate contest of them all, would have seen a major milestone this year by honoring the 25th anniversary podium finishers—of which Huston is a continual presence—but instead they introduced a new Best Trick video contest. And Huston won that, too.

The X Games podcast ‘Brando’s World’ chats with Huston about his outlook on skateboarding in light of the pandemic, and why was important for him to keep being productive as the world struggles to adjust to COVID-19. With a documentary coming out next year, Huston is among the many Olympic hopefuls who are poised to make history in 2021. This interview is a reminder of how much we have to look forward to when skateboarding makes its historic debut.

(We have a few pairs of Huston’s latest Nike SB model, the ‘Nyjah Free 2,’ in stock now in The Canteen.)

Huston has been working with The Berrics for years (we remember when he cut his dreads like it was yesterday), with a tally of over 100 video projects on the site. He’s easily the most consistently prolific pro—check out a small representation of his deep Berrics history below:
