PEDRO BARROS & YNDIARA ASP WIN VANS PARK SERIES IN SAO PAULO, BRAZIL

The 2019 Vans Park Series Pro Tour gave the Brazilian crowds what they wanted to see this weekend, closing out the Pro Finals that crowned local heroes Pedro Barros and Yndiara Asp as the winners of the VPS São Paulo event.  This was the second consecutive year Vans Park Series hosted its Brazilian stop at the built-to-spec legacy skatepark, donated by Vans in 2018 to the city of São Paulo and its passionate skateboarding community.

Barros said to the fans, “Thank you to the Brazilian crowd, for sharing the real and true energy of skateboarding. With the vibe these people bring, this is skateboarding. We’re having fun, and it’s real. We gotta keep this going.” Asp said, “I’m speechless. Here we have the best crowd ever. You give me the best energy, and I just want to skate the best I can for you.”

With two stops down and two more to go, the 2019 Tour Challenger rankings are shaping up in the race to the World Championships—the top five season-end rankings will earn their place in the field at Salt Lake City, United States, this September.
