Skateboarders are the same everywhere. There’s a certain drive and determination that pushes us to accomplish things that the average person might not think is possible. Whether it’s jumping down a set of stairs or making a career out of what we’re passionate about, skateboarding teaches us that we can accomplish anything that we put our mind to. Nassim Guammaz is a skateboarder, a good one at that. He dreams of one day becoming pro even though that’s not the path that his family would like to see him take. Plank is a short film directed by Billy Pols set in Spijkenisse, Holland that follows 15-year-old Nassim through his day to-to-day routine as he prepares for Damn Am in Amsterdam where he hopes to get one step closer to realizing his dream.
