POCKET SKATE MAG’S ‘YOU CAN ONLY SKATE TOKYO AT NIGHT’

Pocket Skate Mag does it again with another amazing travelogue. “In Tokyo You Can Only Skate At Night” rebelliously features only daytime clips, with little regard to the current state of street skating in the Japanese city. (“Street skating in Tokyo is a nightmare. The police are taking things to a whole new level here and it’s pretty fucked up at the moment,” Evisen’s Katsumi Minami says.)

Writer Dennis Scholz says that the Pocket crew’s daily routine was always the same: “Breakfast at 7-Eleven, at least an hour on the train to the spot, skate all day, ramen for dinner at world’s best restaurant in Shibuya, 1 hour train ride back home, beers at 7-Eleven.” The boys loved their 7-11s, which are similarly dope in Hawaii (the Honolulu stores carry every variety of Japanese snack and Ted’s Bakery cakes). “On one rainy day we visited 20 different 7-11 stores in Tokyo. That store just has it all.”
