POPULIST 2016 — Tiago Lemos
It’s been another packed year for Jaguariúna, Brazil’s Tiago Lemos: He turned Pro; he had a strong Street League season; he had a part in Boulevard’s “Quinto”; he put together one of the greatest, most technically advanced Run & Gun runs ever; and he competed in BATB9. Then, in October, DC released a blistering four-minute ghetto blaster of a part called “Press Play.” Tiago’s level of skating is remarkably consistent, but it is his unthinkable ledge combos and hip-high pop in Press Play that left us completely in awe of him. He’s a mystery man with unnatural talent, and 2016 was the year when we discovered what Tiago is capable of.
