Remastered ‘Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater’ Coming to Major Platforms In September

Video game publisher Activision announced this morning that they are releasing remastered versions of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2. The updates, by the Vicarious Visions studio, will include all the original levels, original pros (see Berrics co-founder Eric Koston in hi-def), and original tricks, blended with recreated levels in 4k. The remastered games will release September 4, 2020 on PS4, PS4 Pro, Xbox One, Xbox One X, and on PC.

The OG THPS launched in 1999—the game was in the beta-testing stage when Tony Hawk landed his historic 900—and it sold 9 million units during its initial run. To date, Hawk has been behind 18 games on 13 different platforms (not including the forthcoming rerelease), selling approximately a kadjillion units worldwide to stoked gamers.

“I’m excited to help inspire a new generation of skateboarders and gamers—and existing fans—to grow the sport even further.”—Tony Hawk
