RICK MCCRANK TO EXPLORE SKATEBOARDING’S SUBCULTURES IN NEW VICELAND SHOW

Rick McCrank’s new Viceland show titled Post Radical will be exploring skateboarding’s various subcultures. McCrank—who previously did the show Abandoned on Viceland—spoke about this new project without giving details in his recent Route One interview. And Viceland has updated its YouTube channel with a Summer ’18 trailer that contains a snippet of the show. After some digging, we were able to find a press release from Vice Studios Canada and Rogers Media that provides more details on what to expect.

Hosted by pro-skater and amateur anthropologist Rick McCrank, *Post Radical will explore skate culture in all of its various forms in the signature aesthetic style of VICELAND’s break-out success Abandoned. Each episode will focus on the groups and individuals that make up a specific skateboarding sub-culture, ranging from the best female skaters in the world to those at the intersection of skate and religion. Post Radical looks at the differences between each group as well as their connections to the wider skate community.*

No word on a premiere date as of yet, but you can watch Viceland’s Summer ‘18 trailer above.
