SMART SKATEBOARD AT CES UNVEILED IN LAS VEGAS

CNBC visited the CES Unveiled event in Las Vegas last night, and one of the futuristic gadgets available for testing was a “smart” skateboard. The “Spectra” electric board (made by Walnut Tech) is “for people who may not know how to skateboard,” says the sneak peek homie Todd Haselton. (That’s him riding the Spectra in the above video.)

The internet-connected smart board moves forward when you lean forward and goes backward when you lean back. All this for only $1,399! Smart or stupid? Only time will tell. As a comparison, a complete setup will cost you about $140 at most in The Canteen.

CES kicks off tomorrow morning.
