There was a time when a skater’s career was considered to be over by the time they hit 25. Now people are skating decades beyond that number. While middle-aged skaters are not an uncommon phenomena in 2017, it is rare for a former pro to film an entire video part in observance of his 40th birthday.
That’s exactly what Spencer Fujimoto—who turned 40 earlier this month—did. Not only did he film all new clips, he also crafted a narrative based on the Powell-Peralta classic, The Search For Animal Chin , that gives this 30-minute feature a deeper meaning—the search for fun never ends.
