Tony Hawk has had a very busy week: He blew a cool 3 grand on hype kicks; he officially announced the debut of his new signature apparel line, Tony Hawk Signature Line; his Japan tour video, for Lakai’s The Proto, dropped; he did a Sirius XM radio show with Gleaming The Cube‘s Christian Slater and Tommy Guerrero; he apparently filmed a Carpool Karaoke with Shaun White; and he’s even hanging out at The Oxford Union with the learned homies. Bruh, like take a self-care day.

His latest role is “producer”—as in, producing a Broadway musical. Based on Nick “High Fidelity” Hornby’s 2007 book Slam, the story is about a teen skater and will also involve Devo’s Mark Mothersbaugh and The Spongebob Squarepants Musical‘s Kyle Jarrow (Spongebob also incorporated skateboarding in a creative way).

According to Broadway.com:

Slam is a coming-of-age story about 17-year-old Sam, a kid from a troubled background who finds refuge and hope in the world of skateboarding. When he falls in love for the first time, with a girl named Alicia, it seems like everything’s looking up—until she gets unexpectedly pregnant. Suddenly Sam has to grow up fast. Along the way, he finds guidance through imagined conversations with Tony Hawk, his idol.”

The skate-centric musical will debut in 2020. Hmmm…
