TONY TRUJILLO THROWS OUT CEREMONIAL FIRST PITCH AT GIANTS GAME

A post shared by Mickey Reyes (@mickeyreyes) on

Vans’ Tony Trujillo pulled off an exceptional bit of cross-promotion at last Friday’s San Francisco Giants game at AT&T Park. This photo op is not as random as it seems: The recent release of the Vans TNT Advance Prototype included a limited Giants colorway, in black/orange/white. Limited quantities are available only at 100 of the best skateshops around the world, plus the Giants Flagship Dugout Store. A collab with San Francisco’s favorite baseball team? Trujillo has officially hit the big leagues.

The Vans TNT Advanced Prototype collection is available now at Vans.com. Curious about Trujillo’s frisky Frisco collab shoe? We talked to TNT this weekend after the game and talked a little bit about the design process for his latest shoe; check out his quotes and the pics of the TNT x SF Giants collab below:

“People are obsessing about the insole. It’s fucking solid and it’s got good arch support, but you can also feel everything.”

“For the design process: I just make a checklist and they [Vans design team] fuckin’ just bang it out! I’ve been working with them for years, so we’re on the same level as far as keepin’ it simple. I don’t know how tough it is for those guys, but they came back with [Advanced Prototype] like that [snaps fingers].”

“The first time I saw the shoe’s profile on paper, I was like, ‘That’s it!’ First go. I couldn’t wait to get the samples!”
