VANS’ LOVELETTERS TO SKATEBOARDING: ATLANTA SCENE REPORT

?rel=0” height=”360” width=”640”>

Vans’ " Loveletters To Skateboarding" is now in its ninth season. That kind of longevity has been fueled mainly by the charismatic host (the always cheeky and outspoken Jeff Grosso), but its endurance as a guide to the history of skate culture is owed equally to whoever collects and edits all of the archival footage. Seriously, the editing team is overpowered! In every episode, they manage to find the perfect clip for any talking point, often employing it with just the right amount of that signature Grosso humor. This series should have its own college course at USC.

The latest episode deals mainly with Atlanta, Georgia. (To his credit, Grosso does not call it “Hotlanta” but he does say “The ATL.”) This city doesn’t come up to frequently in discussions of famous “skate cities,” and after watching this you’ll wonder why not. The Loveletters team gives you a take on Georgia that is just peachy.
