In 1987, Santa Cruz Skateboards was one of five companies that completely ran the industry. When they released a video, everyone watched it repeatedly. One of the highlights was Natas Kaupas’s part in Wheels of Fire. No terrain was safe. Natas went higher (his pop was higher than that of most pros’… kind of a Tiago Lemos style in the ’80s) and pushed skateboarding to a new level with his part, laying the foundation of modern street skating.
