Baltimore, Maryland’s Carpet Company is an incredible example of a hands-on, independent skate company. Every deck is hand-screened—complete with subtle imperfections. And, of course, each run is limited (owing mostly to how much care and labor is involved with each deck; there’s simply not enough time in the day to crank out hundreds of these lovingly designed bad boys).
Village Psychic went behind the scenes of Carpet’s workflow as brothers Ayman and Osama Abdeldayem worked on the brand’s latest drop. This is recommended viewing for anyone who thinks market saturation is killing skateboarding—these guys are standing by with the defibrillator.
