‘World Of X Games’ Recaps Tampa Am 2019

“World of X Games” has released a ten-minute edit of the best clips from this year’s Tampa Am contest, a 25-year-old tradition in the heart of Florida. Hundreds of ams and spectators make the trip every year, and for the skater who wins it’s virtually guaranteed to be the stepping stone to the professional ranks.

This year, the winner was Shizouka, Japan’s Kairi Netsuke, who blew away hundreds of amateur skate competitors. The 16-year-old’s consistent runs were full of heelflip variations and a stunning late shuv boardslide, making him the easy favorite in a pool of talented ams that only seems to be getting gnarlier every year. (Netsuke also placed second in Damn Am Japan 2019 in April.)
