X Games’ ‘Best Of Real 2020’ Recaps One Unique Contest Year

With the pandemic forcing all of this summer’s contest organizers to either cancel or postpone, the skateboard industry has seen some very clever, innovative events adhering to social distancing guidelines. The X Games series was probably the most high-profile cancellation in 2020 (announced in April, one month after Olympics was officially postponed), and this year would have marked the 25th anniversary milestone of the first Extreme Games event.

However, X Games did launch a whole new contest series called ‘Best Trick 2020’ which featured Chris Wimer, Filipe Mota, Clive Dixon, Jack O’Grady, John Dilorenzo, Alex Midler, Robert Neal, Myles Willard, Ryan Sheckler, and Nyjah Huston. The above end-of-year recap shows some of the hard work that went behind all these best tricks (skip to 15:30 for the actual skateboarding, unless you want to watch snow and BMX as well).
