JONAH HILL’S DIRECTORIAL DEBUT IS SET TO CAPTURE THE ESSENCE OF ‘90S SKATEBOARDING

Jonah Hill will be making his directorial debut later this year with Mid ‘90s. The story, also penned by Hill, follows a 13-year-old skater named Stevie played by Sunny Suljic who spends the summer navigating between his troubled home life and the new world he discovers through a group of friends that he meets at a skate shop. Hill—who grew up in the West L.A. skate scene during the 90s—enlisted Illegal Civ’s Mikey Alfred as co-producer, and Na-Kel Smith, Olan Prenatt, and Ryder Mclaughlin will all be appearing in the film. Giving the collaborators, we’re anticipating an authentic representation of skateboarding. You can view the trailer for what’s already being dubbed Hill’s love letter to skate culture above. Mid ‘90s hits theaters on October 19.
