The latest piece from Vans’ “Loveletters To Skateboarding” series is a mini-segment called “Grosso’s Love Notes,” focusing on the one and only Natas Kaupas. Now, if you’re an ’80s baby, the name “Natas” is basically superhero-like; the high-flying Lithuanian was our Superman. Go back and watch his Santa Cruz/SMA parts and marvel at his boundary-breaking ollies and peerless style.
He went on to found some of skateboarding more influential brands (101, Fuct), and inspired us with his artwork. But, more importantly, this fool had mad pop back when street skating barely incorporated ollies at all. Natas: we salute you.
